Easy to grow tasty treats for Southern Gardeners. Hybrid Bunch and Muscadine Grape Vines
Coming soon to our online store.
Grapes are a real treat when you grow them yourself. In the southeastern United States two types of grapes are grown. Hybrid bunch grapes that grow in a typical grape bunch and the Muscadine grapes that grow in small clusters.
Both are used for fresh fruit, wine, jelly, and juice. Muscadine grapes (Vitis rotundifolia) are native to the southeastern United States. They are enjoyable and easy to grow. Rooted cuttings are used for planting grapevines. You can use either bare root vines or potted plants. You can propagate your own grapes from cutting too. More on that in a future post here. It's a great feeling to see your vine develop and produce grapes, begin to bud and set fruit in late May. They are ripe by early August.
