Mamey Sapote

When buying fruit trees be sure to get grafted and not seed propagated trees. Grafting insures consistent quality trees that offer you the finest fruit. Trees are grafted with proven named cultivars so you get excellent production, disease resistance and so much more. Call and we can explain all the benefits of purchasing grafted trees!

Superior Cultivars are as follows:

Pantin / Key West is the most commercially grown tree in Florida . A very heavy producer of  delicious medium sized fruit. The fruit ripens July and August.

Pace is a prolific producer of medium fruit that is salmon colored inside. Very high quality fruit ripens in April and March.

Magana is from El Salvador with large fruit and is the fastest variety to set fruit. While most mamey ripen between 14 and 24 months this cultivar matures fruit within 12 - 13 months on average. Fruit is ready to eat between April and May.

Below is a video about the variety called Viejo and also some information on when to pick the fruit.
