Mango trees for small yards and condos and suited to container growing.
Carrie, Cogshall, Julie, Nam Doc Mai, Pickering,
Trees are available in 3 gal, 7 gal and 15 gal

Julie Condo Mango

This Jamaican favorite is a dwarf tree that averages 6 - 8 feet tall but can grow to 18 feet. This mango makes an excellent container tree and is very productive. Julie bears delicious red to yellow sweet nearly fiberless fruit. Season:  July - August

Pickering Condo Mango

A tree perfect for those with limited space, and it also remains a top selection for those looking for a new variety. These trees have a naturally bushy, compact growth habit, and can be maintained in a container at just six feet. The fruit has a firm flesh with a unique and delicious coconut/mango flavor and no objectionable fiber. They average about 1 pound each.  Season:  June - July

Cogshall Condo Mango

Another terrific condo type mango that can be maintained at just eight feet! Easy to grow in a container and produces super sweet fiberless fruit. Fruit ripens June to July.  A small tree that produces heavily.

Carrie Semi Dwarf

The flavor is by far the most outstanding feature of this variety. It has absolutely no fiber and extremely rich in flavor, sweet, aromatic and a pure pleasure to eat. You will savor every mouthful! Its compact size makes it an excellent dooryard tree that requires minimal care. Both fruit and tree have little to no problem with fungus or disease. Lack of color and firmness are the only shortcomings of this superb variety. To determine when to pick, look for a subtle yellow color at its base. Do not let the fruit drop from a tree, or it will bruise since it's completely fiberless. Many people agree that this is the best tasting mango in existence! Season is June to July.

Glenn

Glenn bears medium sized yellow fruit with orange - red blush. This Haden seedling is a Florida favorite. The fruit has a sweet, tangy peachy flavor with little fiber. Glenn bears fruit consistently and trees are typically fifteen feet tall. Season:  June - July

Nam Doc Mai Semi Dwarf

This mango is from Thailand and a very popular tree because it often bears multiple crops. The fruit is eaten green or when yellow and ripe. The fruit is elongated and tapers to a point. This mango is sweet, juicy and fiberless. Nam Doc Mai trees can be kept small and still produce heavy crops.
Season:  June - July

 "Lemon Meringue" Po Pyu Kalay

A mango from Myamar (Asia) with a unique exotic flavor. This aromatic sweet mango is fiberless and has a hint of lemon in it's flavor. The texture is a bit like custard. The large vigorous tree produces small, yellow, elongated, somewhat pointed fruit with a bright lemon-yellow, moist, spicy, flesh.

San Felipe

This mango variety is believed to have been brought to Florida in the 1950's by Cuban descendants. The tree and it's fruit are very similar to Haden.  San Felipe is a fast grower and consistent producer of colorful bright yellow blush red fruit with a pattern of white dots. The fruit avearge one pound  each and have a deep yellow to orange flesh. The flavor is rich, sweet, and spicy. One great advantage in growing San Felipe is the early summer harvest. The trees ussually miss the heavy rains of July and August. As a result the trees disease resistance is boosted. The fruit typically ripen in June.

Kent

Wow!' This older cultivar dates back to 1945 and was selected in Coconut Grove, Florida. The flesh is deep yellow, sweet, aromatic, and virtually fiberless. The tree is a large vigorous grower that offers high fruit yields and ripens from July to August. Be sure to prune regularly to manage growth.

Van Dyke

A truly eye catching Florida cultivar which enjoys wide acceptance throughout Europe. The fiber less fruit has a rich spicy sweet flavor that is deliciously unique.. Its excellent disease resistance is complemented by exceptional red color. The fruit ripens July to August.

Valencia Pride

The one to pick when you want a large tree with a wide spreading canopy. The fruit is delicious and large. The fruit is long, tapered and yellow with a redish blush. Valencia Pride is a consistent producer. Season:  July - August
Tips:
Mango grows best in well drained soil. Low nitrogen is also important because it forces too much growth and retards flowering and fruiting. Mangos are ready to pick when the fruits stem snaps easily with a slight pull.

For best fruit production keep an eye out for powdery mildew on the flowers and panicles. You can control powdery mildew with either sulfur or neem oil spray. Do not use any oil with sulfur or you will cause serious damage to your leaves, flowers etc. For more info follow this link: http://www.ctahr.hawaii.edu/oc/freepubs/pdf/PD-46.pdf or for a shorter explanation follow this one: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/vh048
Protecting your flowers fro powdery mildew is key to good fruit production. Powdery mildew is most active during cool dry weather.
