Selecting a really top quality fruit tree is important. A grafted tree is your best bet and in some cases, like with Soursop, a seed grown tree is fine. A fruit tree does not always need to be grafted but it is generally the better choice.
Air layered trees are also your best choice when grafted trees are not available or the trees are very difficult or sometimes impossible to graft.
Grafting and air layering results vary by type of tree and also the skill of the plant propagator. Grafted or air layered trees offer much faster fruit production, superior fruit yields, disease resistance and can also provide a dwarfing effect.
Dwarf hybrids are fantastic for the homeowner with a small yard or even those with balconies or tiny patios. You can enjoy growing and eating fresh fruit right from your tree.
Most professional growers offer 3 gal, 7 gal, 15 gal and 25 gal trees. You can even get them much larger than that if you are willing to invest some serious money.
3 gal trees (grafted) average between $25.00 to $35.00 each
